Health and Safety Policies

As a ministry of St. Patrick Catholic Church, we follow the church’s policies for children’s workers in the Peoria Diocese. St. Patrick’s and Faith and Reason take the safety of our children very seriously. All groups with adults interacting with children must complete appropriate training and background checks.

Student Safety

If you will be present in the classrooms at any point during the school year, you must complete this training. If a spouse, grandparent, or other guardian will be in the building or classes at any point this year, they too must complete this training.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this manner. The training is valid for five years, thus, if you completed the diocesan training at any time since 2020, your certificates will still be valid. If you have previously completed the training for a different ministry or church within the Diocese of Peoria since 2020 your certificates will still be valid. Please let us know when you have completed this training or previously completed it, so we can make sure it is filed with or transferred appropriately to St. Patrick’s.

You will need to set up a username and password.

As each parent is a volunteer with FRLC, at least one parent and anyone who will be on-site with other children must complete the following 4 modules of training:

  • Safe Environment Course
  • Defensive Driving Courses
  • Background Check
  • CANTS form

All paperwork can be turned in to the Administrative Coordinator or the Director.

Class Cancellation Policy

As long as it is permitted by St. Patrick’s Church, by the recommendations of the Diocese of Peoria, IDOT, Illinois State Police, and IDPH, FRLC will continue to meet in person at St. Patrick’s Church.

If at any point classes cannot be held in person due to weather or high levels of illness, Scripture Study, Illuminate, Logic, Rhetoric, Writing Classes, and Debate classes will continue to meet via Zoom. However, Memory Work, Scholeio, and all levels of Art will not meet. Science classes will depend on the scheduled activity.

Illness Policy

If your child is sick, please keep him or her home. Please do not attend co-op within 24 hours of having a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea.

If a member of your family experienced the following: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, congestion or runny nose not related to seasonal allergies or has a positive Covid-19 test, please stay home for at least 5 days.

We encourage families to do what they find best for their family including wearing masks to community day. We support everyone being healthy!
